OPEN Conducts Safety Drill Activities
2024-06-26 14:03China is celebrating its 23rd National "Safety Production Month" in June with the theme "Everyone Talks About Safety, Everyone Knows Emergency Response — Ensuring Clear Emergency Paths."
In order to fully carry out the "Safety Production Month" efforts, OPEN's many project divisions have planned and carried out a number of intricate and extensive safety drills. Every practice, from emergency rescue to heatstroke and electric shock prevention, is meticulously matched to real-life circumstances to guarantee that workers can react effectively and quickly in an emergency.
The Safety Month Theme Promotion Activity is organized by the OPEN Quality and Safety Department.
The Wintop project site of the Industrial Building Division served as the venue for OPEN's Quality and Safety Department's "Safety Production Month Promotion Meeting" on June 25. This event was also live-streamed online and included personnel from the Intelligent Manufacturing Department and other departments at headquarters in addition to on-site construction workers.
Ms. Bao, the executive vice president, gave the event's mobilization address. She began by thanking all of the project team members for their hard work and underlined that safety production is everyone's shared duty and the company's lifeline. Her objective was that this exercise will raise everyone's awareness of safety issues and make sure that everything is done safely and efficiently.
As the representative of the entire Intelligent Manufacturing Department, Senior Director Mr. Chen made a solemn pledge to implement all safety rules and regulations with utmost vigor. This included closely collaborating with all departments, enforcing safety inspection systems strictly, strengthening employee safety education, and emphasizing equipment maintenance to ensure stable and safe operation. The department will use this promotion meeting as a chance to work pragmatistically and implement doable steps to achieve their safety obligations.
The importance of safety awareness was emphasized in remarks by Mr. Yan, the engineering director of the industrial building division, Mr. Wang, the general manager of the general contracting division, and Mr. Zhou, the senior director of the quality and safety department. They emphasized the necessity of maintaining vigilance in day-to-day work and rigorous adherence to safety protocols, all of which contribute to the company's efforts to produce goods safely.
The firm specifically invited the chief nurse of Songjiang District First People's Hospital's Emergency Department to the location in order to improve everyone's emergency response skills. She gave thorough explanations of several first aid procedures and gave examples of how to perform CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) and bandage wounds in various ways.
The project safety officer went over the fundamentals of firefighting and how to utilize extinguishers during the fire drill portion. This was followed by a hands-on firefighting practice.
Fall accident avoidance is crucial because steel structure building frequently involves high-altitude tasks. Engineer Hu stressed that safety harnesses and "lifelines" are the last lines of defense in guaranteeing life safety as he demonstrated how to properly put on and utilize them. The safety of operations conducted at high altitudes depends on the proper usage of safety harnesses.
In an effort to help everyone stay healthy throughout the hot weather, the Quality and Safety Department gave heatstroke prevention supplies to the construction workers working on the site after the event.
OPEN Steel Structure, the General Contracting Division, and the Project Management Team Jointly Conduct Safety Drills
An exercise against electrocution kicked off the event. A worker was discovered to have unintentionally electrocuted himself and fallen at a mock building site. The emergency protocol was triggered right away, and rescue workers rapidly severed the power supply, isolated the electrocuted victim from the power source with insulated equipment, and administered emergency medical care. During extended labor, one of the workers in the heatstroke preventive drill displayed symptoms of heatstroke. Management staff on the scene took swift action to avert heatstroke by giving the employee cold liquids and medicines. They also made arrangements for the worker to be moved to a cool, well-ventilated place so they could relax. All workers received a high-temperature alert at the same time, encouraging them to plan their work and rest intervals wisely and to take protection against the heat.
OPEN General Contracting Division Conducts Safety Drills at Huizhou Project
At the Huizhou project site, the OPEN project team organized a practical training session on firefighting equipment. Participants operated fire extinguishers, fire hydrants, and other equipment under guidance, becoming familiar with their usage methods and precautions. Through hands-on training, their firefighting emergency response capabilities were enhanced. As temperatures continued to rise, the project team placed high importance on heat prevention and cooling measures for employees. Management distributed cooling supplies to all employees, including heatstroke medications, cool beverages, and sun hats, etc. Additionally, the project team increased on-site inspections to ensure the effective implementation of various heat prevention and cooling measures. By reasonably arranging work hours, setting up rest areas, and providing ample drinking water, they aimed to minimize the impact of high temperatures on employees' health.
Production safety is every worker's duty and the enterprise's lifeblood. We are aware that the only ways we can guarantee the security of every worker and the company's continued growth are by being alert at all times, closely following safety guidelines, and consistently enhancing our emergency response skills.
We consistently improve safety education, carry out safety inspections, and plan emergency drills through the "Safety Production Month" events to make sure that every employee fully comprehends the value of safety, carries out their duties in a safe manner, and collaborates to create a strong safety defense line!
