The China Association for Engineering Construction Standardization's "Technical Regulations for Composite Wall Structures with Alternating Steel Pipes and Corrugated Steel" (Draft for Review) review meeting was held at OPEN Construction Group's headquarters on March 9, 2024, with over 40 experts in attendance. The development of OPEN's innovative product, the CS Wall, has progressed to the approval stage.

Meeting Review

The "Regulations" were completed by Shanghai OPEN Steel Structure Co., Ltd. and Zhejiang University by adhering to the requirements set forth by the China Association for Engineering Construction Standardization. The online and offline methods were mixed for the review meeting on March 9, 2024.

Dong Chao, Secretary-General of the Steel Structure Professional Committee, presided over the meeting. Experts from the review group, drafting group members, and officials from the China Association for Engineering Construction Standardization were among the participants.
The OPEN Construction Group's president, Chen Ming, greeted the specialists with warmth.
Wang Changxing, Chief Engineer of Beijing Tsinghua Tongheng Urban Planning and Design Institute, and Chen Xiaoming, Chief Engineer of Shanghai Construction committee, were members of the review expert committee, which was chaired by national engineering survey and design master Yu Yinquan.

Review Outcome

The experts reviewed the "Regulations" and provided the following opinions:
1. Comply with standard writing specifications, with complete and satisfactory materials.
2. Guide the composite structure of concrete-filled corrugated steel plates, offering a basis for design, construction, and acceptance.
3. The content is scientifically sound, highly operable, and coordinated with existing standards. It introduces innovative technologies, including steel pipe shell walls, steel plate shell walls, steel rod shell columns, and their connection nodes, filling an international gap and reaching an advanced level.
The review experts unanimously agreed that the "Regulations" passed the review.

Experience Hall Visit

Experts visited OPEN's Construction Structure Experience Hall, showing great interest in various experimental devices and exhibits.
The frame-core tube and frame-shear wall structures, composed of shell walls and frames, exhibit excellent seismic performance, do not require formwork or support, and save labor and costs. They are suitable for high-rise commercial and office buildings between 80m and 250m in height.
The review and approval of the "Regulations" provide a design basis and implementation standard for the CS wall, facilitating its application in actual projects.
