Visit from Mr. Song Zhiping: OPEN Exchanges Insights on Overseas Strategy

2026-10-13 16:39

Recently, Mr. Song Zhiping, President of the China Association of Listed Companies and Chief Expert of the China Enterprise Reform and Development Research Society, visited OPEN Group. He held a forum discussion with the company’s management team on subjects including Chinese enterprises’ global expansion, overseas industrial‑plant construction, localised supply and project local implementation.

Accompanied by Chen Ming, Chairman of OPEN Group, Mr. Song Zhiping toured the corporate exhibition hall. He learned about OPEN’s self‑developed innovative products such as the Jiajia Frame Structural System and European‑style Steel‑Frame System, as well as overseas‑project case references.

Mr. Chen briefed on OPEN Group’s corporate profile and its global‑expansion progress in recent years. OPEN has set up overseas subsidiaries in Hungary, Spain, Brazil, Morocco, Malaysia, Indonesia and other countries. Its products have obtained European CE certification and U.S.‑related certifications. The company delivers full‑chain services ranging from design optimization, domestic manufacturing, transportation and customs clearance to overseas construction management for clients.

During the forum, drawing on the international‑operation practices of Chinese enterprises, Mr. Song Zhiping shared three reflections on Chinese enterprises going global:

01. Plan thoroughly before taking actionGoing global is a long‑term strategy and should not be pursued in a rush. The core objective of enterprises’ overseas expansion is to identify regions capable of sustaining 10‑20 years of rapid long‑term growth, rather than entering every overseas market blindly.

02. Diversified regional layout to hedge risksAvoid concentrating all resources on a single overseas market. Adopt multi‑regional deployment to hedge systematic risks arising from changes in national policies and political situations.

03. Prioritize high‑growth marketsGive priority to high‑growth developing markets and exercise caution when entering saturated mature markets. Prepare risk‑hedging contingency plans for regions with relatively high risks of political turbulence.

In recent years, OPEN has followed leading Chinese manufacturers from new‑energy, automobile and other sectors to build factories overseas. It has built mature project‑execution capabilities across Europe, South America, Southeast Asia, North Africa and other regions. Going forward, OPEN will focus on improving local design coordination, cross‑border manufacturing & shipment, and on‑site construction synergy.

Mr. Song Zhiping remarked that leveraging its strengths in technology and full‑chain services, OPEN has adopted multi‑regional overseas layout and embarked on a steady and pragmatic global‑expansion path. By making well‑considered moves and balancing market opportunities with risk prevention and control, OPEN sets a valuable reference for domestic industrial‑building enterprises to “go global”. He expressed the expectation that OPEN would further deepen its overseas presence and tell a compelling story of Chinese steel‑structure enterprises going global.

Chairman Chen Ming stated that taking this exchange as an opportunity, OPEN will make further efforts in overseas‑region selection and R&D of innovative products, helping Chinese industrial‑building businesses achieve higher quality and greater efficiency when going global.

Going global is not an impulsive trip, but a long‑term expedition measured in decades. OPEN Steel Structure will keep supporting Chinese manufacturing to reach the world with professional expertise and contribute OPEN‑developed solutions for industrial‑building global expansion.
