For modern building, good appearance is pursued as well as economy and efficiency is also valued. As we know the mezzanine joist span and internal are limited. The height of mezzanine joist will be one meter when the clear span of it is longer than 10 meters. The clear height of the floor will be restricted and traditional concrete floor slab has to be poured upon certain strength of lower slab. Open steel joist corporation has developed Open floorpro series mezzanine joist in respect of this market need. The top chord of Open floorpro mezzanine joist will be inserted in the concrete slab which will bear the press on it together. The bottom chord can serve as the support member for ceiling or equipment. Due to the combination design of the top chord and concrete, the steel consumption of mezzanine joist is reduced sharply and its capacity for maximum load is enhanced.
On the top chord of Open floorpro mezzanine joist, there is a row of pre-fabricated slots for the temporary handling bar supporting the formwork needed for pouring concrete. With these slots, traditional scaffold will not be used when pouring concrete and the removal of the formwork is very easy. However, the pouring at one floor won't affect the other floor's pouring. If you like, you can begin the pouring from first floor to top simultaneously without pausing for concrete set.
Due to the special design of Open floorpro mezzanine joist, the steel deck is not needed for pouring the floor. The thickness of floor slab will be reduced. (It is well known that the combination floor slab with steel deck) Meanwhile, the interval of mezzanine joist is normally smaller than typical floor secondary beam in a result of thinner concrete floor slab. With lighter self weight, the load can be reduced accordingly. The total cost of the building will be cut down.
At present, Open Corporation can supply 12 meters of maximum span of mezzanine joist. Even under the condition of 12 meters mezzanine joist, 1 ton/m of maximum line load is available. |
